Ideal to have co-chairs for every committee to increase member participation and reduce stress for any one area
As needs arise, empty committee chairs will be filled and we’ll get EC input on whether to temporarily remove from the website (Education, Charitable Works, and maybe Safety).
Will you rally with us on February 14th and join the Vision Zero Coalition in urging Mayor Hancock to address the inherent dangers of unsafe speeds on our streets? If high-speed traffic through your neighborhood has you begging people to “drive chill”, or to drive like their children live there, or if you simply believe that no one should take their lives in their hands simply by trying to get around town, this is for you!
The Vision Zero Love-In will be a truly multi-modal event, with bicyclists, pedestrians, and transit riders meeting in front of Union Station at 11:00 am and traveling together to the steps of the City and County building. Mayor Hancock will address the crowd at noon, and the rally will culminate with the delivery to the Mayor of hand-signed Valentines from Denver residents declaring their love for safe streets and support for the Safe Speeds for Denver campaign
Attorney Aaron Goldhamer described J. D. MacFarlane’s lawsuit vs the Mayor, DPR, Public Works, and others regarding the plan to construct a drainage system in City Park Golf Course, closing the historic Course for 18-24 months, questioning whether such construction is a Park Purpose, the lack of needed public vote for construction in a park, the apparent tie-in to 1-70 below-grade plan for flood protection for I-70, Stock Show area.
Kimberly demonstrated a pollinator hotel that can easily be built and can provide shelter for different kinds of pollinators. One of the main ways to work with City parks is to have the City pass a resolution saying that they will not use chemicals on the parks and parkways.
