Montbello 2020 R.N.O nominates a local resident Mrs. Julie Mayo as a recipient of the 2023 INC Neighborhood Star Award.
Mrs. Mayo and her husband have lived in the Montbello community since 1999 and she is currently employed at Raynor Manufacturing since 2019. Julie has worked at several local businesses in the Montbello community including, Hillyard Supplies, Samsonite, and Century Link.
In 2018 Mrs. Julie Mayo volunteered to serve her community at the Montbello Walks Mobile Food Pantry. Back then, we were delivering food to our elders and serving community three days per week. Julie Mayo has never missed a day of service in 7 years. She would most times leave work early in order to help sort and pack boxes for community. In 2022 the Food Pantry needed to serve nearly 200 residents on any given day and therefore our loads increased from 5,000 lbs of fresh produce to over 16,000 lbs. each day. Julie Mayo demonstrates organization, fairness and the ability to make boxes look delicious. Julie can be counted on to distribute items equally and makes sure that only the finest foods are packed for our residents. Every day she showes up ready to give food away in the heat, rain, snow and cold — and for that we nominate Mrs. Julie Mayo as a recipient of the 2023 INC Neighborhood Star Award!
Thank you Mrs. Julie Mayo for your loyal service to the Montbello community. We deeply appreciate you and recognize you as a Montbello community hero!
