STATEMENT TO INC DELEGATES, September 3, 2022
Greetings INC delegates:
There are some big changes in INC’s leadership you need to know about. These will be discussed at the September 10 delegate meeting:
Resignations of INC President, Secretary, and Delegate-at Large:
Last month, the INC Board received and accepted the resignations of Loretta Koehler, President; Emmett Hobley, Secretary; and David Halterman; Delegate-at-Large. These departures were due to disagreement about how INC should continue its work developing its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policy.
Vacancy of President assumed by Vice-President:
Per INC by-laws, the vacancy of the president is assumed immediately by the Vice-President, Drew Dutcher, as Interim-President. At the delegate meeting on September 10, we will first hold an election to confirm Drew Dutcher as President, with Treasurer Greg Sorensen presiding.
Nominations and Affirmations of Vice-President and Secretary by Delegates:
Per Bylaws Section 9.13 “Vacancies during Board Member or Officer Terms”, the Interim-President plans to nominate, and a vote of the delegation will be held to affirm the nominees listed below. Per INC bylaws, a 20 percent quorum is required for this affirmation.
Vice-President: Keith Meyer, currently co-chair of INC Climate and Sustainability Committee
Secretary: Christine O’Connor, currently co-chair of INC Zoning and Planning Committee
Unfilled Delegate-at-Large Seats:
There still remain two vacant Delegate-at-Large seats. The President will make those appointments in consultation with INC members and the Executive Committee. Our current Delegate-at-Large Board members are Judy Baxter (Historic Montclair), LaMone Noles (East Denver Residents Council), and Adam Meltzer (Washington Park East Neighborhood Association).
Discussion of Changes in INC Board:
The Board of Directors and members of the Executive Committee will discuss these changes and answer any questions you have at the September 10 delegate meeting.
