Delegate Meeting Minutes/Notes
September 14, 2019 – Eisenhower Chapel/Lowry
George Mayl, President, called the meeting to order 9:07AM-Quorum present
Over 200 attended
Acknowledgements:
• Jeane Larkins, Executive Director Lowry Foundation, for providing the historic Eisenhower Chapel for today’s meeting
• To the host RNO, Lowry United Neighborhoods.
• Acknowledged other City Council representatives present
Presentations:
• Sally Kurtzman, delegate, Lowry United neighborhoods shared the history about the Eisenhower Chapel and the Lowry Foundation.
• Councilwoman Amanda Sawyer welcomed attendees to District 5 and introduced herself as new council representative
INC Business:
A motion was nade by Trupti Suthar (Sunnyside), second by Cindy Johnstone (FANS Wash Park) to approve the August 10 Delegate meeting minutes. Vote carried with 31 for, 0 opposed, 4 abstained (34 total)
A motion was made to approve Emmett Hobley (Montbello Improvement District) as an INC Board Member. Emmett was approved by the INC Board in July and introduced to the delegates in August. Moved by Jane Lorimer (Winston Downs), seconded by Blair Taylor (Greater Park Hill). Motion carried with 35 for, 0 against and 2 abstentions (37 total)
INC Forum:
This was a public forum about the Neighborhood Planning Initiative/NPI the City is conducting for the 78 statistical neighborhoods within Denver County. All registered neighborhood leaders of record with the City of Denver were invited.
Forum purpose:
1. To increase awareness of the NPI and its effect on registered neighborhoods
2. To allow neighborhood representatives to ask questions about the NPI process
George Mayl introduced Jamie Giellis as the forum moderator. Ms. Giellis introduced the panel and managed the process for questions and answers. Attendees were invited to submit questions in writing. Index cards and pens were provided.

Denver Community Members were each given three minutes for opening statements
Christine O’Connor, INC Zoning and Planning Committee Co-Chair,
Myles Tangalin, Congress Park neighborhood and Steering Committee member for the East Central Area Plan,
Tracey MacDermott, Greater Park Hill Community, INC and Steering Committee member for East Area Plan,
Denver Community Planning and Development-CPD was given 9 minutes for opening statements (went a couple minutes over)

Future INC Meetings Announced
• October 12 INC Delegate Meeting at Arrupe Jesuit High School for a Denver Decides Ballot Initiative forum
• November 9 INC Delegate meeting at Sam Gary Library for a forum about Conservation Overlay options for neighborhood preservation
