For People with Disabilities, Their Family and Care Givers (This training is Free)
Is it possible to prepare for a disaster? If a disaster hit close to home, who would help you, your neighbors and other people who may have a Disability?
Who: The purpose of this training is to educate People with Disabilities, Their Family and Care Givers about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact our area. The training will also include basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Those who complete the Denver CERT training will be able to assist others following an emergency when professional responders are not immediately available, as well as help out within their own communities.
When: Saturday, September 20 and 27 from 9:15 AM to 3:50 PM; Participants must attend both sessions to complete the required training and receive a “Certificate of Completion”. The class exercise will be October 18 at the Pepsi Center

If American Sign Language Interpreters and/or CART will be provided if needed. You must contact Lorrie A. Kosinski, Lorrie.Kosinski@denvergov.org, 720.458.8486 VP at least three days prior to the training. Every effort is being made to offer this training to the disability community as friendly as possible.
