New Resilient Neighborhood Response Program inquiry
I wanted to reach out to you about a new program my team developed to get neighborhoods prepared for emergencies. I’ve attached the draft of the flyer we will be using when we start signing up community groups to go through the program.
This is a four part training series that culminates in the neighborhood group earning a Resilient Neighborhood Response Team certificate . The first part of the series will be a 1.5 hour workshop facilitated by Denver OEM’s Denver Ready team that walks participants through our Make a Plan class, which teaches personal and household preparedness. The remaining 30 minutes will lay out what the subsequent trainings will cover, provide the materials needed to go through them, and leave plenty of time for questions.
The second and third workshops are one-hour each and self directed. The team members will work their way through a Workbook together that will teach them how to make a neighborhood map with defined boundaries of 15-20 households; teach them how to create a contact list; a special skills and equipment inventory list; define team roles and responsibilities; and create an emergency response communications plan.
The last workshop can either be self-directed or led by a member of the OEM Denver Ready team. It is tabletop exercise (there is a toolkit version that allows for the self-directed option) that will give the new Resilient Neighborhood Response Team a chance to test their plan!
My plan is to announce this opportunity to RNOs, Neighborhood Watch Groups, HOAs, and Denver Housing Authority properties. Please let me know if you think this is something that you’d be able to help me get the word out about.
Thank you and all the best,
