NEW PROPOSED MARIJUANA LICENSING PROPOSED FOR DENVER
Includes equity provisions, new home delivery regulations, and
Marijuana Hospitality Tour Buses
The City has drafted new licensing proposals to allow delivery of marijuana to private residences and issue exclusive 3-6 year licenses to Social Equity Applicants for these Transporter Licenses, in efforts to remove financial barriers into the marijuana industry. A stakeholder group has been working on this for several months, and two public outreach meetings were held Jan. 6th and Jan. 8. See link to city website, Powerpoint and YouTube video of Jan. 6 outreach meetings. Comments on the drafts can be submitted to ashley.kilroy@denvergov.org and Erica.rogers@denvergov.org. This is expected to be finalized and introduced into Council committee in a month or so.
Unfortunately, the notice for these public outreach meetings was sent to INC and RNOs on De. 22, 2020 just before the holidays, and the cutoff for public comments is currently Friday, Jan. 15, 2021. At INC’s January 2021 Delegate Meeting, the delegates approved a request that Excise & Licenses extend that deadline to Feb. 22, 2021 so that INC can do a better job getting the word out to member organizations and bring this for discussion at its February Delegate Meeting on Feb. 13, 2021. We will keep INC members posted if this request is granted.
INC Extension Request E&L MJ-1On January 21 INC received a response from Ashley Kilroy Director of Excise and Licensing. In the letter she cited that “We intend to release updated draft language during the first week of February. As such, we cannot extend the deadline for this round of feedback to February 22, 2021 as requested”
