Neighbors Working Together
On Saturday April 6, INC’s treasurer, Steve Nissen, joined a hardy group of 40 plus volunteers who stepped forth to pick up trash along the High Line Canal from Colorado Blvd to Interstate 25, in the Eisenhower Park area. The event was organized by The High Line Canal Conservancy. Volunteers came from University North Neighbored, the conservancy, and also Councilwoman Kendra Black.
Speakers from the conservancy spoke of impending plans to improve the trail abutting the canal. A path of crushed rock will be added along the paved trail in addition to other upgrades.
The weather was perfect and a positive spirit prevailed among all participants. Dozens of trash bags received many pounds of trash and the trail is now spic-and-span for the start of the summer season.
