Cross Community Coalition

Because Katherine has been an active participant with the Cross Community Coalition she is being honored with the INC youth leadership award.  When she became aware of her possible displacement by the proposed I-70 expansion, she joined other youth and took it upon herself to stand up for her family and members of her community who are voiceless.

Katherine has spoken out about her experiences living in her neighborhood and about the displacement and community upheaval that will occur as a result of the I-70 expansion.  She has spoken in a variety of public forums and has led the way for youth in her community to have their own voices heard regarding the policies shaping her community.

INC is honored to recognize Katherine with the ‘Youth Leadership Award’.
