Neighborhood Stars have made a difference in their neighborhoods. They have made Denver a better place to live by working on a cause or project to improve the appearance or quality of life in their neighborhoods.

Southmore Park South

John has been an active board member for Southmoor Park South for several years.  He worked to upgrade their bylaws and it was his idea to change their name from Hampden South to Southmoor Park South.

His organizational skills have been a huge benefit to our community. This was very evident when he initiated a community golf tournament to raise money for four neighborhood schools, the neighborhood’s charity of choice.

Over the past three years, the golf tournament has raised $9000 dollars which gave each school $2,250.  The schools have used the money for furniture for a newly renovated library, computers, field trips, and a school community garden.

John personally promotes the golf tournament​ to nearby neighborhoods as a way to build more community spirit.    John is indeed Southmoor Park South’s and INC’s Neighborhood​  “star.”
