Design Overlays for Cherry Creek East

Councilman Chris Hinds has proposed a Denver Zoning Code text amendment to create two design overlay zone districts and a map amendment to apply the new overlays to portions of the Cherry Creek East neighborhood. We posted a public review draft of the proposed text amendment on September 8 and tentatively plan to begin the adoption process with a Planning Board hearing in November.

Status of Project updating Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) regulationsCity planners are working with community members to look at how the Denver Zoning Code regulates ADUs. This project will not rezone any properties. It will look at how ADUs are designed, how they fit in with different types of neighborhoods and block patterns, and how updates to the zoning code may reduce barriers to creating ADUs.
