INC Zoning & Planning Committee

Meeting convened at 9:30 am

Co-Chairs Christine O’Connor & Ean Tafoya

1. Expanding Affordable Housing Through Market Based Tools. We heard from Community Planning & Development Principal Planner Analiese Hock and Department of Housing Stability (HOST) Brad Weinig. Analiese provided an overview of the work of the Expanding Affordable Housing Committee. (Video of the meeting can be viewed here.)

Per ZAP’s request – Analiese Hock notified us that CPD has added two more office hour dates online to discuss this work. If you have not taken advantage of similar opportunities over the past year, the virtual sessions are small and offer a great opportunity to be heard and to have your concerns/addressed, as well as to invite others in your RNO to sign up.

1. Golden Triangle Text Amendment. Councilman Chris Hinds introduced the Golden Triangle amendment and Principal City Planner Kristofer Johnson presented an overview of the text amendment. The Powerpoint is attached below, and the video can be viewed here. The Both Public Review Drafts can be found at this link, along with questions and answers about view planes, and background information on the Golden Triangle Plan. Following Mr. Johnson’s presentation, Brad Cameron of Neighbors for Greater Capitol Hill presented alternative modeling work on impacts of the amendment on the Cheeseman Park/Botanic Gardens view plane.
