Dear INC Members,
The present pandemic has displaced ‘normalcy’ in our lives, and many are impacted more than others. Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation (INC) has, over the years, built its treasury to meet several goals such as hosting forums addressing citywide issues, supporting committee efforts related to transportation, parks/open space, and city planning, providing youth scholarships and supplying small grants for member neighborhood projects that need a little boost with money.
At this time, we feel it is important to use a significant amount of our funds to help our fellow residents, and especially now as paychecks have stopped for so many living in Denver. To that end, the INC Board decided to donate a significant amount of money to a few of the organizations who are making a critical impact in the Denver area.
It was not an easy decision as there are so many worthwhile placements to consider. After discussing, vetting and voting, the Board chose these organizations and amounts shown below as recipients.
$5,000 – Southwest Improvement Council
$4,000 – Denver Metro Emergency Food Network
$3,000 – East Colfax Community Collective/TRUA
$2,000 – Struggle of Love Foundation
$2,000 – Mental Health Center of Denver
We urge every neighborhood to look to your area to find ways to support locally as well. Together, let’s make Denver proud of her Registered Neighborhood Organizations.
I am proud to serve as INC’s President and be a part of this support effort.
Sincerely,
George E. Mayl, President
Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation
