INC Assists with Special Election for Virginia Village/ Ellis Community Association/VVCE
February 20, 2019 DENVER – DenverINC, president, George Mayl, worked in tandem with Eric Eddy of VVCE to lead a special election for a new Board of Directors to serve Virginia Village/Ellis Community, one of the largest RNO’s in Denver County.
Councilman Paul Kashmann initiated INC’s involvement because VVCE’s Registered Neighborhood Organization (RNO) lapsed on November 19, 2018 with the resignation of the previous Board of Directors. Members of the neighborhood met on January 16th and expressed a desire and commitment to reorganize the RNO by holding a special election for a new Board of Directors in order to represent residents within Virginia Village/Ellis.
The election was held on the evening of February 20 at Ellis Elementary School and drew 72 eligible voters. Officers were elected successfully at this meeting. Jane Lorimer from INC’s executive committee assisted with registration and count monitoring and INC’s treasurer, Steve Nissen, attended in support.
VVCE sincerely appreciated the third-party, neutral support and indicated it will also renew its membership and involvement with INC.
