Old Business
• Meeting with Mayor Hancock – Neighborhood Relations liaison, Grace Ramirez still trying to find a date for INC EC interested parties to meet with the Mayor.
• Steve: RNO support for meetings should be reinstated. Jane P sent a list to Loretta of those organizations who may be interested in hosting our delegate meetings. Lowry is hosting September meeting.
• Cindy: Topic for September so far is brain trauma. EC decided it is not in line with INC platforms. Suggested Neighborhood Planning Initiative/NPI become the next delegate meeting topic. Include information about land trusts and Community Building Agreements/CBA; question why is there no Planning Director for Denver; generate media releases. See addendum attached to these minutes.Denver Decides – Steve, George, Amy
• Denver Decides is an entity made up of equal partnerships with Denver League of Women Voters, TV8, Historic Denver and INC.
• Still planning for DPS candidate forum once school location is set
• INC will host the ballot initiatives at its October 12 delegate meeting to be held at Arrupe Jesuit HS

• Not many attendees coming to scheduled meetings.
• Building platform – what role do we (INC) play
• Ready to link up with interest groups like Resilient Denver to have/gain clout
• Resilient Denver is pushing City Council for stronger and more pro-active position on sustainability.
• Cities must show results that match Paris Accord. Jolon Clark, President City Council, will propose a department that is closer to mayor and group can do moreDinner Discussion (Jane Potts, chair, had to leave at this point)
• Why have a silent auction if we don’t generate a plan for where the money will go –cause related nets a strong perception about INC values
• All agreed the focus on scholarships for youth groups/youth engaged in civic action should be continued for consistency and as a program associated with INC.
• [ACTION] EC needs materials dinner committee is using to gain auction items (completed)New Business
Jane L introduced a proposal to firm up a paid part-time contract administrative position for INC. Estimated cost per year is about $6500-$8000
Duties:
Taking minutes – this is a skill set that can be learned
Booking meeting venues
Booking adequate meeting locations, parking, public transit, HC access, size
Engaging RNO support
Ensuring City Council reps are invited
Food/beverage arrangements and other logistical needs
Inventory management of supplies and equipment
Reminding president of open items from minutes and help with preparing agendas
Membership management (renewals, lists, directory) – Membership Chair would still be the face of INC membership and manage membership drives.Proposal
• Jane Lorimer to perform duties in order to develop job scope and hours anticipated.
• INC would then be able to adequately budget for the position in 2020
• INC Secretary position would take on responsibility to review minutes for distribution and advise/update the President of any open action items (support building the agenda)
• Vice President and President would concentrate on building meaningful programs for delegate meetings – we’ve had some very strong and well-received programming this year—good momentum needs to continue
• Goal is to install a contract person no later than January 31, 2020Motion was made by Loretta, seconded by Steve to adopt this proposal for administrative staff. Motion carried unanimously.
