Welcome
- George Mayl, INC President, called meeting to order at 9:01 AM
- 35 Delegates in attendance on sign in sheet
- Special Guests: Tay Anderson and Scott Balderman, each of the Denver School Board; Liz Mendez, DPS Executive Director Enrollment and Campus Planning
Announcement – George Mayl
- Anyone receiving a solicitation for funds via email from him or Steve Nissen should not open the document, but instead delete it.
- 5 positions open for Board of Directors of INC: President, Secretary, 3 at-Large positions
- Annual dues must be paid by 2/28
Motion – passed
Approval for January Minutes – Motion by Cindy Johnstone, 2nd Hank Bootz
Unanimously approved, no abstention, no opposition
Committee Reports
Education – Amy Duclos
- Committee’s goal to visit all RNOs in 2020.
- 2 Resolutions re the sale of Rosedale Elementary School and Place Bridge Academy schools to be voted on at the end of the meeting pursuant to several meetings and door-to-door canvassing.
- Financial consultant hired to analyze DPS expenses: since 2013 l4.8% growth in teacher salaries, 63.8% growth in non-teacher salaries, 48% growth in general fund.
PARC – Maggie Price
- Last month’s meeting included Dan Goldhamer from Colorado State Extension. His topic was pesticides in our open spaces.
- Next meeting is march 17. at 6:00, Brookdale Senior 2020 S. Monroe Arts and Crafts room.
Sustainability – Ernie Diedrich
- New Co-chair – Perry Bernap
- Topics: climate change, food, water and waste; working to build sustainability alliances with other like groups citywide
Transportation – Joel Noble
- Next meeting 3/12 6 to 8 PM: regional community networks and more.
Zoning – Ean Tafoya
- Next meeting February 29: keep open or close oil fracking operations which revenue stream goes to DIA fund; equitable and affordable housing; neighborhood inspection services and cell towers.
RNO Subcommittee – Mike Henry and Margie Valdez
- Soliciting additional members.
- Examine RNOs’ diversity, inclusivity, representation, notification and other cities methods (Councilman Paul Kashmann).
Membership – Jane Potts
- Dues deadline 2/28
- Annual dinner, Doubletree Quebec & Martin Luther King Blvd, 2/12, auction 5:30 PM; Dinner 6:30.

Spoke on change in group home living ordinance to come into compliance with state (see link on web site)

Resolutions – Amy Duclos
- Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation resolves that the sale of any portion of the building or land at Place Bridge Academy is contrary to the desires of the majority of the surrounding community. The sale of any school building or property is not aligned with the Denver Public Schools’ mission of educating children. Be it resolved that the INC supports holding the property in trust, indefinitely, as a public asset.

- Speakers: Amy Duclos, Emily Holben Walker, Leah Sandoval, Florence Sebern and Brad Trowe. Tay Anderson and Scott Balderman stated they are committed to transparency, meetings with interested parties and no decision on the sale has been made or will be without school board approval.
- Call the question – Bridget moved; Tim O’Burn 2nd; 23 ayes, 12 nays, 0 abstentions
- Vote to approve – 30 ayes; 4 nays; 1 abstention

- Bridget Walsh called the question, Tim O’Burn 2nd: 30 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstention, 4 unaccounted for
- Vote to approve – 31 in favor, 2 against, 2 abstentions
