What Is Zoombombing?

Because of Covid19, our RNO’s are using Zoom for their meetings.  There is a new “hack” called Zoombombing.  “Zoombombing” is when an uninvited person joins a Zoom meeting. This is usually done in an attempt to gain a few cheap laughs at the expense of the participants. Zoombombers often hurl racial slurs or profanity, or share pornography and other offensive imagery.

And yes, Zoombombing is illegal in the U.S.

If you broadcast the meeting details and passcode on social media, this will make you susceptible to these attacks.

If this has happened to your group, please email Zoom’s security team at trust@zoom.us who will investigate and ban the intruders from the Zoom platform.
