National Day of Action
Wednesday April 30 – NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION America’s PrepareAthon is a new, national community-based campaign for action to increase emergency preparedness across the United States. Two “National Days of Action” will be held every year, one in the spring and one in the fall. On those days, citizens are requested to participate in drills, exercises, and discussions to increase their own personal preparedness and to build community resilience.
The first National Day of Action is April 30, 2014. The Denver Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS) will be hosting an information booth from 10am to 2pm in the Atrium of the Webb Building, 201 W. Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO 80202. Representatives from Denver OEMHS, Denver Fire, Denver Police, Safe City Youth Program, American Red Cross, FEMA Corps and the Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL) will be available to explain how you can be better prepared for a disaster. You may check www.Denvergov.org/oem for other upcoming classes and programs.
