Community ERT
Lakewood/Denver Community Emergency Response Training
What would YOU do if an emergency or disaster hit close to home or work?
What: This emergency/disaster preparedness and response training (FEMA course IS-317) teaches participants how to plan for an emergency and trains them in basic disaster response skills, including fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and emergency/disaster medical operations. At the completion of this training, participants are encouraged to support emergency response agencies by taking a more active role in emergency preparedness projects in their community.
Why: When an emergency/disaster hits, we can’t always depend on professional responders to be immediately available. We would like to have our communities in Lakewood trained and educated so that they can sustain themselves in the event first responders are not immediately available during a large scale emergency/disaster.
Who: This training is open to all individuals and groups. We will accept up to 40 participants.
