Oct 9 – HONORING MARY MYERS

The late Mary Myers, longtime INC delegate from University Park, will be honored on October 9 as part of the International Walk to School Day program at Univ. Park School.  Mary and her Sidewalk Committee succeeded in getting many blocks of sidewalks installed near the school, so kids could walk safely.

A plaque and a new bike rack will be presented in her name by Transportation Solutions, to which she was a rep from UP.

The gathering begins about 8 a.m. on the school grounds, E. Iliff Ave. at S. St.Paul St., with the program at 8:40 a.m. Mary’s son David will speak, as will Diana Helper, UP INC delegate.  All are welcome.  It’s also Unity Day and folks are encouraged to wear orange.
