BRUSH OFF GRAFFITI DAY-Mayor's Event
Join Mayor Michael B. Hancock, City Council members and Denver Public Works in kicking off Denver Days on Saturday, August 3, by giving graffiti in Denver the “BRUSH OFF!” Volunteer for the Brush Off Community Challenge and help remove graffiti vandalism from Federal Boulevard.
The Brush Off Community Challenge unites community members to remove graffiti along Federal Boulevard, a major thoroughfare through the Mile High City. This is a one day event, held in conjunction with Denver Days, a new citywide tradition aimed at creating stronger neighborhoods by fostering community service projects and neighborhood gatherings. By volunteering for this great event, you can help keep our neighborhoods vibrant, safe and healthy throughout the year!

After submitting your registration form (forms can be submitted electronically or printed out to fax or mail), simply show up on Saturday, August 3, as early as 7:30 a.m. at Barnum Park (360 N. Hooker St.: From Federal Blvd, go west on W. 3rd Ave., turn north on Hooker St.) for your location assignment. We appreciate registration in advance so that we can adequately prepare for such a large-scale graffiti removal effort. The event will conclude by noon with an ice-cream social in the park.
Upon arrival to the event, volunteers will be required to sign a waiver of liability. Minors must have a responsible adult sign on their behalf.
Event Day Information:
- All participants (pre-registered and walk-up) must check in at Barnum Park by 7:45 a.m.
- All supplies will be provided.
- Families are welcome to participate, however the project is not suitable for children under the age of 5.
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- No pets allowed.
- It is highly advisable to wear sunscreen and a hat or visor.
- Closed-in shoes are recommended.
- Volunteers will work in teams in assigned areas along Federal Blvd.
