Create a Mural to Aid Denver's Homeless
APRIL 20 – HOMELESS IN DENVER: “WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?”
Over the past few months, well known community artist Barry Rose has donated his time and expertise teaching ceramic tile glazing to a group of artists in RedLine’s Reach Studio program who are marginalized or living in transition. Together they have designed an overall theme for a mural to be permanently installed on the front of the St. Francis Center- a homeless shelter and services provider- in the Spring of 2013.
The final step in this project involves YOU! We’re inviting members of the public to glaze an original tile (as short as a 15 minute process) and work in collaboration to contribute to this important public mural. The goal is to connect with one another- regardless of our backgrounds- and create a significant work of art together. Suggested donation of $40 per tile created. Additional donations are welcome to sponsor a member of our homeless/in-transition community to participate and make their own original tile. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. All money raised goes to support the work of the St. Francis Center. We will be working in collaboration to complete a ceramic time mural to be permanently installed on the front of the St. Francis Center this spring.
