Neighborhood Stars have made a difference in their neighborhoods. They have made Denver a better place to live by working on a cause or project to improve the appearance or quality of life in their neighborhoods.
Sara Randall
West Colfax BID
Sara is the communications director for Colfax Ave BID and is honored tonight for founding the first Denver affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.
The mission of the Imagination Library organization is to fight against illiteracy and foster a life-long love of reading by providing preschool children and their families the gift of a specially selected book each month.
By mailing high quality, age-appropriate books directly to their homes, Imagination Library helps children become excited about books and to feel the magic that books can create. Moreover, the program ensures that every child will have books, regardless of their family’s income.
Sara is the founder, director, volunteer, and the unpaid person running the Imagination Library for zip code 80205. The importance of the existence of this organization in Denver is punctuated by the fact that Denver’s Mayor and area educational leaders attended, and spoke at the launch of the Library in August 2015.
Education is our future and Sara Randall has greatly contributed to building that future for her neighbors and our city. Tonight we recognize her as a Denver neighborhood star.
