DENVER RECYCLES SUGGESTION: HOST A ZERO WASTE PARTY!
Create a real splash this summer by making your next party a zero waste event and showing your friends and family just how committed you are to the environment. Not only will you impress your quests, but you’ll also get to skip having to haul away bags and bags of trash. Follow these easy tips for going zero waste and eliminating the trash can from your next gathering.
• Ditch the disposables for reusable items
• Serve beverages from larger containers into reusable cups or glasses vs. single serves
• Skip pre-packaged items
• Set out recycle containers for your guests
Remember – no plastic bags in the purple recycle carts!

PARTNERS AGAINST GRAFFITI ARE LOOKING FOR “SPOTTERS”
We need volunteers to help with our upcoming graffiti and litter audit (from 9 a.m. – 2 or 3p.m. on July 17th or 18th – depending on volunteers’ availability).
Volunteers will arrive at Solid Waste Management that morning for refreshments and a brief training. Then we’ll all leave in the same van and spend a few hours driving through pre-selected areas counting the amount of graffiti and litter visible from the van. We will break for lunch, resume auditing and return to our offices. Contact Neddra Niblet if you’re interested and if so, on which date.
