16CA0920 Whitelaw v. Denver City Council Mt. Gilead/Crestmoor Park
A lawsuit challenging Denver City Council members and planners for their decision to allow the high-density rezoning of the former church and synagogue property at 195 S. Monaco Parkway was heard by the Colorado Court of Appeals March 7 2017
Former Co-Chair of INC Zoning Greg Kerwin asked the Colorado Supreme Court to review the case. This is in response to the rejection of a complaint on May 17, 2016 by Judge Shelley Gilman
This case presents several precedent-setting issues of state-wide importance about the integrity of the local land use planning and quasi-judicial rezoning process, which affect all local government officials and Colorado property owners in zoned communities.
