Neighborhood Stars have made a difference in their neighborhoods. They have made Denver a better place to live by working on a cause or project to improve the appearance or quality of life in their neighborhoods.
Phil Normand
Whittier Neighborhood Association
Over the past 30 years Phil has volunteered countless hours towards the betterment of the Whittier Neighborhood, including serving as a board member and leading important East-side initiatives.
Most recently he led the design and production efforts of The Whittier Neighborhood Association Spotlight Newsletter which is distributed monthly to every residence in the neighborhood.
The Spotlight is a fundamental means for information distribution within the and it wouldn’t have been possible for all these years without Phil’s help. From gathering articles and photos, and pertinent art, Phil has worked tirelessly to ensure the quality of the newsletter, while never missing a deadline.
2016 was Phil’s last year designing The Spotlight; he will be dearly missed. In addition to the newsletter, Phil is also the artist responsible for the Whittier poster which is sold as a fundraiser for the neighborhood association.
Phil is always willing to attend events and sign posters for neighborhood residents. Without a doubt, Phil has made a big difference in Whittier and is a true “Neighborhood Star.”
