In March of 2015 Inter-Neighborhood Cooperation sent all Candidates for City Council a questionnaire comprised of 26 questions, provided here. The questions were composed by members of the INC Committees: Education, Parks and Recreation, Transportation, and Zoning and Planning and in several cases provided an explanation for the question.
Candidates are listed as they will appear on the ballot
Responses to survey can be seen by selecting the name of the candidate
The numbers I used represented a proportion. South City Park voted at a neighborhood meeting at which our traditional 80 people voted. Congress Park voted at a meeting. I do not know the details of that meeting.
Anna Jones states she would include neighborhood input on parking issues. As co-chair of the original Main Street zoning committee, she ignored the 3 to 1 vote by SCPNA against the proposal and the 2-1 vote by Congress Park against the proposal. The development of an unplanned and unevaluated entertainment district called the Bluebird District has allowed the creation of a overwhelming parking problem in South City Park. The use of City Park as an entertainment venue has extended the parking issue to weekends.
Tom – are you saying that the vote of SCPNA and Congress Park were passed by a *margin* of 3-1 and 2-1 respectively? Or, was four (4) the total number of votes cast in SCPNA and three (3) in Congress Park. If it is the latter, I think that it is tough for anyone to feel that a single-digit vote is representative of anything.
